my stands are made out of 2x6s & 2x4s
however, I just bought a cabelas ladder stand (the ~$69 one), which is rated for 300# - I feel confident that it will work just fine - i'll let you know if it doesn't[:-]

331lbs last season, hunted out of ladder stands rated for 300lbs no problem. Hunted out of ladder strand made of 2x4's 18 feet up last 4 years. Make repairs yearly. Lost 57lbs since December so I'm ready to hang from limbs this season and shoot one handed with my teeth. Ha Ha

I'm with you... them's some big ole boys! I'm also a light weight at 6'3"and 185# and I love the Goliath for the leg room and solid feel 25 foot up a tree. You could about boogie dance in one of emif you had the inclination. My cousin's 6'4" and around 240# and he absolutely wouldn't have anything else.

6'5"-290#I have two loc on lems,and two API baby grans,and a summit bushmaster.Most stands have a safety factor figured into there ratings.If you want a stands that can support a bunch check out chippewa wedge loc.When I can part with the $ I will get one or twoHere is their web addy they will send you a free video with some awsome demonstrations of how tough these stands are...... http://www.chippewawedgeloc.com/
