Which size fletchings do you prefer for hunting?
I was just wandering what size fletching you prefer for hunting? I currently shoot 4inch. I am now looking at the new blazer by bohning and it is only 2 inch. They claim it will perform like the 4inch with broadheads. I am around 273fps and will be mechanicals this year. My arrows are easton axis 340 and weight in around 423 grains fully ready to hunt.
check out the site I really like the flouresent orange and maybe with the orange zebra crest.

I have always used as big of feathers as i could without them hitting anything. With my current setup for deer hunting, a martin altitude and trophy taker drop-away, i use 4" with as hard a helical as i can get.

I've always shot 4" vanes. The guy at the proshop tried to sell me some tiny vaned things, maybe 2" or 2.5". I just don't see how they can fly as good and the speed gained by haveing less weight would be almost nill.

I shoot Flu Flu feathers with 2" cutting diameter mechanicals out of 50lb bow with a 30" draw and XX75 2018 arrows. Do you think I will get good penetration?[8D]
All kidding aside, I shoot 4' vanes.

For practicing, I shoot 4" vanes with a slight offset.
For hunting, it's 5" with a hard right helical. I needed that to get my muzzy's grouped right.
