4" feathers always have flown the best for me, as far as the smaller sizes, I would not go below a 4" for hunting. I think you will have trouble if you are shooting a fixed blade broadhead

I used to shoot 4" feathers with an offset with muzzys , and they were very critical of form , and very hard to tune . I got the shoot'n seminar with Dee Wilde , and listened to what he had to say about arrows . I made the switch to 5" feathers and it made a world of diferance . You need more stearing in the back of the arrow when you add stearing in the front [ie a fixed broadhead] . Ill shoot 4' feathers with the vortex heads this year to reduce wind planeing , what gets me is when someone sugests useing small vanes with a fixed head , not very good advise IMHO .
MATHEWS , Those blazer vanes you are speeking of use are wider than the normal vane . I hope you are useing a fallaway rest as I can see contact being an issue with these things . One of the board members has tryed tham and posted a thread on them , do a search and see what pops up .
