would you "fix" a broken point on a buck you shot ?

It's up to you. It doesn't matter what anyone thinks but you.
I fixed a tip on one of mine that I had mounted....it had about an inch broken off of a 7" tine. It just made the tine look better coming to a point, then a broken flat tip.

jimbohunter, i agree with you...even if the taxidermist fixed the point to where you couldn't notice unless you were 6 inches away, i would feel obligated to tell the story of how i got the point repaired. I am going to get the mount the way he is in the pictures, like some one said, i can always go back at a later date and have the point repaired, it is hard to see in the pictures, but he does have about a 1 inch g2 on that right side, i bet it was 7 or 8 inches before he broke it, assuming it matched up with the other side.

If it were my buck I would leave it alone. Maybe it will give you more incentive in the future to get that big boy with the perfect rack. I've shot deer with busted points in the past and it has never crossed my mind to have them repaired. But I'm not you, so do whatever feels right to you.

I fully support Fixing Horns and Boob Jobs
I always liked the "feel" of the natural ones though!!!
Portable Ladder- like others have said, do whatever feels right to you.
bigbulls- that deer probably put a whoopin' on many a deer in that woods. Good point!

Its up to you, either way it will look good. I did break about 3" of a tine off once when the landowner hauled mine out with a tractor and chain, as I cringed! Never got it fixed, but every time I see it, it gives me pleasant memories.
