Missouri 2004 deer regs
I keep hearing that antler restriction are coming. I am still not for that the habitat in Missouri is to good and young buck will still be harvested under this system.
Just some of my suggestion.
1. Allow bowhunting "For Deer" to start the 3rd weekend of September.
2. Bowhunting for does has no end. Which means if you fill you gun tags you
would still be allowed to hunt does during rifle season for does if you have
a tag still open.
3. Move the doe only season to the weekend before the regular rifle
season/price of tags lowered for this season.
4. Then allow regional tags to be purchased from the regional office
"Meetings at regional office will be help each year that will help
determined that area NEEDS" But final decision still rest with same
governing body.
5. Out of State hunter fall under new regulations & tagging system. - Earn a
buck system. One doe must be taken before any bucks are harvested.
6. Add to hunter education classes the method of aging deer & buck to doe
ration"
7. "Earn a buck tag" Seminars throughout the regions each year for methods
of aging deer & buck to doe ratio balance & habitat improvments. To be held
at same time each year at each regional office. Each attendee at the end of
the seminar can buy an additional buck tag. Residents only
8. Habitat improvement tags for landowners tags which allow one extra doe
first/buck second. Private Land Conservationist becomes the source for the
application system that in some method shows land has been set
aside/improved/crops left for the benefit of wildlife" -
Deer,Turkey,Quail,etc.
9. MDC checking stations that hunters can take deer to have
weighed/measured/aged and any other information felt needed. Can be
volunteer basis or random selection or earn a doe tag method.
10. Random selection of field observation with the purchase of bow tags
along with current volunteer observation records for bowhunters across the
state.

RE: Missouri 2004 deer regs
how about raising the price of each deer tag 1 dollar to be used for processing, so that when we donate a deer to share the harvest, I am not responsible for the processing fee. Keep the unlimited doe tag going, and move the rifle season a week later. also run it a tad longer.

RE: Missouri 2004 deer regs
How about a Sept. 15 bow opener. I heard it may be in the works.
As far as the rest, I believe antler restrictions are coming to at least some of the pilot units. It's not what I want.
