Default Yahoo! Big 8 pt!

But I didn't get a shot at him. I went out this morning to hunt a certain small woods that usually can only be hunted with a south wind. I put my Loc-On stand up in a different tree than usual and at 8am here comes a 4 pointer and a huge 8 pt. Even though his inside spread is about 17", he is very tall, very good mass, and very symmetrical. He should score 135-140, but the body size was more impressive. Even now he will field dress at 200-220.

As luck would have it they came from the west , not far from a highway, and sure acted as though they were looking for does. I watched for 45 minutes and couldn't get a shot off due to the thick brush. Very spooky and each step was done with care while staring in all directions. He knew something was up, and wouldn't come down the trail although he sure wanted to. They eventually left moving very deliberately. Gonna sit there a few more times and hopefully he will come back and present a good shot, and I am moving the stand again. Sorry to be longwinded but for me to see such a buck this time of yr. at 25 yds. was exciting. Now I just need to get a shot!

Hey that is exciting stuff!!!

I watched 2-3 bucks chasing does from my stand for about 10 minutes three nights ago. I was able to call the biggest buck to about 35 yards but he had some tine damage on the left side so I didn't even make an attempt. He should be a dandy next year for sure.

Like your description these deer were on pins and needles!
