Why does that speed seem just a bit slow to me? I would have expected at least 280 fps coming from that bow with that setup. Now I am very eager to chronograph mine as I have a very similar setup.

2004 Bowtech Liberty, 71lbs, 29" draw. Has factory hush kit, fletcher tru peep, and a string loop on the string. Shooting 26.5" Gold tip 55/75's which were weighed at 362gr I am getting 286fps through my dealers chrony and a 288fps average through my chrony.
2003 Bowtech Dually, 67lbs 29" draw. Limb Savers, fletcher tru peep, and a string loop on the string. Shooting the same 55/75's Gold tips It was shooting consistently at 309fps This was my hunting setup this past year and I shoot fixed blade heads and had no problems with them . The broadheads I use are the Wasp SST 100 gr. heads.

Frank,
I shot it through the chrono at my pro-shop. The owner was telling me that the chrono had been messing up before but they thought that they had got it figured out. He thought that it was a little slow also. One thing I forgot is that I also have the two factory eliminator buttons on the string.

RE: bow speed?
I am shooting an LX at 66lb with around a 29.5 in draw length. Easton A/C/C 3-60/340 weighing in at 423 grains. String loop. 2 tie on knocks and a true-peep. I am getting 277 fps. Shoot this for both hunting and 3-D . Both limbs bottomed out and the strings and cables are adjusted for my exact draw length. It ain't in the speed. It is in the yardage estimation and shootability.

RE: bow speed?
Don't really know for sure. I believe my compounds are probably somewhere in the 232 and 240's considering the 540+ grn shaft I shoot. The recurves are probably 154-155 for the 45# and 175-176 for the 48#.
All I know for sure, is that the deer never seem to get out of the way of an arrow shot from any of the bows.
