College bound/My favorite hunter
My son, Joe has just been accepted at his college of choice. Fall 2004 will find him going to SUNY Environmental Science & Forestry at Syracuse, Ny. He's my best friend and hunting partner. I will miss him dearly but know that we shall be prowling the Adirondack Mountains. We will get a few hunts in for sure. It's going to be so different for both of us but he's ready to fly outta the nest. Damn, I'm gonna miss him.

I know it sucks but such is life. Now you can chase big NY whitetails together on the weekends. I hope this dosn't mean he'll become part of the orange army (orange men) lol. I tried to find a bit of humor for you

I know what you are saying, I think the biggest thing that I missed sinch I've been in college for 2 1/2 years is the hunting. But like Adams said, when he does get back and hunt it will make every hunt that much seem more important.

jimpok61 Congrats to your son. MY nephew graduated from the same school a few years ago. It's a tough haul getting a good job in the field. He knocked around in it for a few years, his longest stent being with The Adirondack League Club in a position funded by the State. Then he went to Albany doing something. Finally got tired of long hours and little pay and went to work for the Thruway or roads or something like that.

[8D] Thanks David. I warned him about future jobs but he's very smart and I believe he is already looking down the long road to grad school. He knows that you have to really be prepped in a special field of interest to go anywhere monetarily. Time will tell, meanwhile we will be beating the bush up in the Dacks. An area that you have a past with, great country, Gods Country.
