Well In what ways to you mean manage, that word can mean a number of things?? I have hunted some spots less than 3 acres (it just happens to be a great spot!!) it is tuff, and I hang all stands well before the season, so the deer get use to it!

Own a 40 acre cedar swamp that is surrounded on three sides by corn and alphalpha and one sides backs hardwoods that goes two miles. It's basically a gigantic funnel. It has been a hard place to hunt, there is no managing it. Throw some bait out and hope they come by, or hope you get a buck in rut coming by tailing the doe. They could be anywhere in there and literally have hundreds of different runs. It's a tough hunt on the inside. It's like another world in there though.

My father has a 30 acre farm........and there is no way to do QDM on it !
But we plant about 2 food plots on it every year , it's got 2 acorn bottoms on it, a 3 acre pond and large tracks of land in front and behind it. The deer travel between the 2 tracks of land. A hunting club is behind it and they have killed many of the small bucks I passed on.......but that's life ! The hardest thing about hunting it ......is placing stands for different wind directions. The right wind knocks out 4 out of 5 of my stands ! [>:]

I hunt on areas as small as 6 acres because the bucks seem to think no one will hunt them in areas that too small to hold a herd of deer. There is an old kmart in hillsboro, OH that has about 4 to 5 acres of woods behind it. One year we did a unarmed drive through it and we counted over 49 deer! No lie. And even then there were some running away that we couldn't count. Deer aren't always in the "Biggest" of woods.
