Can someone post a pic so we can judge for ourselves.[8D]
Seriously, from the Martin adds I have seen,I think they are a little racy but acceptable. At least it isn't slanderous lies being thrown around about other bow companies.
I am with you Arthur,I like the Martin adds.

I honestly didn't remember any ad I'd seen recently coming close to depicting anyone performing fellatio, so I went and dug out all my recent bowhunting mags. Here is the image Scott is referring to. Provocative? Yes, most certainly. Depicting fellatio? Not hardly. Fellatio is an oral act by definition. I'm not arguing that Martin's marketing campaign has leaned more toward a sexual nature recently, but -- as posted above -- it certainly gets attention. And most bowhunters are male, so...
Sorry about the color-banding. My scanner's getting old, and I can usually work around it when scanning a 4x6 or something like that, but can't with a full-page ad like this one.

scott,
I whole-heartedly agree with you. It's not an issue of whether ads pay the bills or if sex sells, but it's all about integrity and decency. Sure, the magazines have a right to choose their ads, but I also think they should make more of an effort to satisfy subscribers.
The sad thing is that we live in a time when this is seemingly acceptible. 20 years ago this would not have happened. It is a simple reflection of the gradual decay in the moral fabric that made this country strong. The best you can do is write the magazine editor and let him know you will let your subscription run out if they choose to include these types of ads in their magazine.
I'm an adult and I can personally handle the "mature" stuff individually, but I wouldn't want to be associated with it in any way. It makes a statement about you whether you like it or not. It also makes a negative statement about our sport IMO.
Not trying to preach or judge or condemn anybody - just my 2 cents.

Unfreekinbelievable! You mean to tell me that THIS is the picture that has your panties in a bunch?
Guess you never saw any Bear Archery ads back then huh?
I would show that ad to my preacher for heavens sake!
You guys are WAY to uptight. What EXACTLY is wrong with this picture?
I take it your wife and kids are not allowed to watch TV, or go to the mall?

BC, Thanks for proving my point.
What jumps out at me,(besides the girl), is the fact that Martin has to do this to sell bows.
Marketing strategy - When your product doesn't measure up to the competition, just put a pretty girl on there and let's hope all the testosterone out there does the rest. I hope you guys don't fall for that. If you do you are just falling into the hands of guys who probably make a lot more than you do. That type of marketing has been around a LONG time, I know, but I don't think it has a place in archery magazines.
By the way, my wife has the same values that I have, and we both choose what we allow our kids to watch on TV, thank you very much. I hope you would do the same. If not, say goodbye to one more piece of the "fabric".

If this is what is called Porn then I'll never be able to watch TV again. Frankly, I'm a 56 year old red-blooded american and can say the young lady is a pleasant sight indeed. Much better then some guys I gotta shoot with every week. I just might have to start shooting for Martin.
