Default Maybe a bitz?

Heading to the sportsman show in portland this weekend, looking for arrow fletchers. And everything else for the archer. But sounds like everyone in here likes the bitz. Why?,& How long to fletch 6 or dozen arrows. Any info would be great. Thanx.

one bitz, depending on what glue you use....10 minutes a feather. They are however the best on the market and will last longer then any of us could hope to! There are however others out there....as an alternative I am going to give the BPE Pro a try. Being its half the price you can buy 6 for the price of 3 bitz's! Then ya get to doem real quick.....just wait till ya end up with a wheel with 24 bitz's on there LOL!

I use a Vador fletcher (damn near the only reliable thing that FS carries, besides feathers). Everyone told me to get Bitz but I can get about three Vadors for the same price. No complaints from me on their function. Your time per arrow will depend on your glue. No jig of similiar design is any faster or slower.

I personaly have found nothing better than the bitzenburger jig. If you fletch with feathers, and use the fletching tape you can do one arrow about every 90 seconds or so. The same goes for vanes if you use arizona vanes and their fast set glue.

The Jojan multi fletcher is good if you don't have the time to wait 30-40 minutes per arrow.

If you don't mind the time spent, either the bitz or the BPE are excellent fletchers. I've used both and like the BPE better, plus you'll save some money going with it. The reason I prefer the BPE is that the nock settings are adjustible to almost any possition in relation to the fletching. It's also lite weight compared to the bitz.

Also, I try and stay away from the vapors of glues and so on, so I use fletching tape. It's great stuff, adheres very well and is a lot faster to use. I've lost arrows at the range that I found a month or so later and the fletching is still sound on them. Good stuff.

oh come on Wahya..thats half the fun ! That is my biggest complaint on the Martin J-8's.....they are cheapola and dang if I can get my cock feather to stop wearing on my shelf plate no matter what rotation I have on it! THe fletch tape is awesome too...doesnt screw up those cresting lines when ya go to re do them! Heck my last batch of arras are about dead and they still shoot great, but man I dont want to strip those feders and start over LOL!

I have a little bit of a hard time fletching larger diameter shafts (2613) with a helical (I use their left helical clamp)on my Bitz.I can't seem to get enough adjustment to get the clamp to sit on the shaft evenly. Any suggestions. May even consider another jig.
