RE: Do you have late season success?
The biggest buck I have ever taken was on the last day of Maryland's deer season = JANUARY 31, 1998. I had hunted the day before and missed a shot at a smaller buck. I'm glad I missed because I probably wouldn't have gotten into the same tree that last day. The reason I wanted to go back was because I had, besides the small buck, 22 deer walk past my stand.
Last year I think I shot about 8 deer after the first of the year. Most were does due to the needs/desires of the property owners.
This will give you an idea of how last season hunting can be. Good luck if you decide to hunt.

Been hunting one piece of land for many years and always, after gun, deer hunting can be very dismal. I've hunted 3-4 days a week all of December without even seeing a deer. That place has a ton of gun pressure around it though. I hope the new place I'm hunting this year is like the rest of you guys say - deer spotting good when they settle down. We'll see. It's cold, but quite tranquil 24' up an oak tree being able to see the whole woods. Gotta love it.
