Default THE NEW DIGITAL STEALTH CAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well guys, Stealth Cam finally did it. They made a digital game camera.

The camera has some nice specs.......

Model DIGRC-X
Integrated 1.3 Mega Pixel Camera
Built In 16 MB Flash Memory
Expandable Compact Flash Media Card Slot
Programmable to shoot 1 to 3 pictures or 10 seconds of AVI video per trigering of the camera and programmable from 1 to 60 minutes between motion activation
Time & Date stamping on every image
LCD Information Screen on Front Housing
Imaging Software Included
USB Cable included for PC download
TV/Video out cable included for viewing on home TV or handheld monitor
Easy to use
Weatherproof

MEMORY CAPACITY
16MB 32MB 64MB 128MB 256MB
High 48 96 192 384 766
Med 67 134 268 536 1072
Low 156 312 624 1248 2496
AVI 20 40 80 160 320

Memory capacity chart provides approximate number of images
or AVI movies based on resolution setting and the size of the
memory card. These figures may vary depending on the amount of
detail in the image.

The greatest thing is the price....... I found them on the internet for between $269.99 and $329.99

I think that I am gonna sell my two Stealth Cam MC2-G's and get one of these. I am gonna add a 256MB memory car, so I can keep around 2,500 pics on it (pics are 640X480), plus, I will get the solar panel (which will work with this camera), so, I won't have to be replacing my batteries.

That is pricey for all of that....

$269.99 for the camera
$ 59.99 for the 256MB compact flash memory card
$ 62.00

Total #391.98 BUT, considering that this camera will not need batteries replaced, and will not require you to pay for film developing, that is a good price. Heck, all of that is still $100-$200 less than all other digital trail cameras out there.

So, hopefully, around X-mas time, I will have my Stealth cams sold and I will have one of these bad boys!!!1

Just figured that you guys would like to know about these!!!!

Can you replace that cam (or the cam in the other Stealth Cams) with your own digital camera (maybe with better quality pics....3 megapix or so)?

Sounds like a great deal but I sure wish they would have used at least a 2 mega pixel camera. The 1.3 mega pixel camera is okay but a 2 mega pixel camera or higher would give you a lot better photos.

No problem Aussie, it is on my wish list for x-mas

I am not sure if you can upgrade the camera, but, I imagine that with enough tinkering around you could. I would say the reason that they went with a 1.3 megapixel camera was to keep the price down. Most of the 3.0-6.4 megapixel cameras are over $400.00 by themselves.

I think that the picture quality will be fine though, the best quality pics this camera can take is 1280X1024 which is HUGE, bigger than 95% of the computer monitors out there. The mid pics are 1024X768 which is still very big, and the "small" pictures are 640X480, which is still bigger than most pics for posting on message boards.

Won't you have to take the camera out of the woods to download the pics? For me that won't work. I live 2 hrs from where I hunt. I would jump on these digital cams if I could check my pics in the field. Some digitals do have the viewing screen, but I never really can tell much about the pics until I download them to the puter. Keep us posted.

Belle,

You can bring the camera in to get the pics off of it, or you can get a RCA jack monitor that will allow you to view them in the field.

But, if you were to get a bigger compact flash memory card for it, you could bring that in and put it in your digital camera (if you have one) and get the pics that way. That is saying that your digital camera uses a compact flash card. I think there are also readers that you can get that you put the memory card in and download them to your computer.

Either way, I guess it would be a pain for someone who has to travel that far.
