my father and i are taxidermists. so i will keep an eye out.
about 12 years ago my dad shot a great buck, very distinctive tall racked 8. he mounted it and while it was in his shop drying out it was stolen. needless to say he was devastated, it was his best deer ever. a year later, a friend of ours who reads meters for NIMO happened to look in a persons window and saw a ton of nice mounted bucks when he was reading the meter. being a deer hunter, this friend asked the homeowner if he could see his trohies. the guy was like " Sure, come on in " and they spent an hour b-sing about deer and the stories behind the mounts. but the one big 8 looked too familiar. this guy tells my dad about it, and sure enough the guy was a customer of ours. dad gave the NIMO guy a picture of the buck, he went back, looked in the window and sure enough, it was it.
i wont tell you how we got it back (goodfellas style), but sure enough on the back was the matching invoice # for the plaque my dad had ordered. then we got the full confession. it' s a shame that some folks are so desperate to be the great white hunter that they would steal someones buck. i really hope that deer gets found.

Thats terrible!!!! Someone could steal anything I have, including my wife, but my deer heads would hurt me the most. Almost everything we have is replaceable to an extent, but your trophies are never replaceable. I really hope he finds it and takes serious action on whoever would do that.
