RE: NEW WORLD RECORD!!!
I also hope that he doesn' t treat it as " I just won the lottery" and start pushing a bunch of gear as a BIG promotional " money grab" ....

There is already rumors, hopefully unfounded and untrue, that the deer was taken after legal shooting hours. I did see a pic of it over at archerytalk.

Actually that picture on Archery Talk is a TOTALLY different deer ......The pending P&Y world record was shot is Saskatchwan.....NOT Ontario different provinces all together...

RE: NEW WORLD RECORD!!!
" Wednesday morning, Zepatas, Wessinger and his father, Don, jumped the deer in a spot of bottom ground in a wooded area. Bill Wessinger got off a shot with his bow, but the deer was undaunted by the blow and ran right toward Zepatas, who shot it again. The deer turned back to Wessinger, who administered the fatal arrow."
Damn sounds like one tough deer. LOL. Something sounds a little fishy maybe?
" Wessinger said he was using a Mathews broadhead Game Tracker 125 cross-grain and an Eastin bow."
LOL Mathews broadhead Game Tracker 125 crossgrain? and an EASTIN bow. Geez if they are going to say what equipment he used at least get it right!
Too many doubts surrounding this deer!

Maybe this is out of line, but those three guys just look fishy all together. What, the guy in the back is their manager? Yeah, I would say something is a little squirrely with that story!

RE: NEW WORLD RECORD!!!
The guy in the background is the owner and manager of "Sprague's Kinderhook Lodge", where the hunters were staying.
The deer was shot 1st on Monday morning and the arrow broke its leg just above the hoof. It was seen again on wednesday and shot by each of the two hunters as it ran back and forth trying to escape them.
I was not there to see it shot, so I can only relate the details as told to me by the hunters. I was in camp though, when it came in. I did see 1st hand the various holes in it from being shot and there was an arrow inside the chest cavity from a rear shot.

RE: NEW WORLD RECORD!!!
I like this personally with all the possible new world records. It also doesn't suprise me at all with new world records pending. Everyone seems to be in the deer management program and it is paying off. IT just shows the passion we have for this animal and sport we all love and the fruit of our labors is paying off.
This is cool
I just hope everything is legit and ethical and NO * will be next to anyones name of this one.
Can't wait to see the pictures
