RE: NEW WORLD RECORD!!!
thats tough to figure out ,how fame will go to someone head. Thats what I alwals liked about Beatty, he seemed to just be a regular guy afterward, he would always just say" I was just at the right palce at the right time" He never claimed to be " the great white hunter"

Here is a once in a lifetime buck taken by 2 hunters on 2 days of bowhunting in Pike Co. Illinois. It roughly scored approx. 240 and 32 pts and weighed in at 220 on the hoof. the article in the paper is here http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?n...d=172213&rfi=8 and the pic is here

Wessinger said he was using a Mathews broadhead Game Tracker 125 cross-grain and an Eastin bow.

MQ1 what do you expect from the press, they never get the facts straight. I was there and saw it firsthand when it came into camp though. There s a little discrepancy though as to which hunter the buck belongs to. Wessinger tagged it when his buddy was in the lodge getting his tag...lol That may be why neither is smiling in the pic.

Hey Dave, with all due respect, better tell those hunters to make sure they carry their tag with them. I know its being nitpicky, but if the DNR checks a person and that permit is not on their person, they could be written up.
Great buck by the way....thanks for the pic!!!

RE: NEW WORLD RECORD!!!
I' m sure it will be an interesting story to hear about how 2 hunters took the same buck on 2 days, LOL.[&:]
It is a nice buck, but if they cut the skull down the middle, each half would probably not be any kind of record by itself.[&:]
Maybe they could mount the deer in profile, one of ' em gets the right side, the other one gets the left side![&:]
Good observation though, neither one of them seems to be too happy![:@]
