Signs of a Bad string?
My bow is a couple years old, original string i suspect. Lately it wont keep that smooth wet waxed look, it frays out after a few sessions of shooting. None of the threads have snapped or anything yet but is this fuz all over my string a sign of a soon to be mangled face? wow i cant imagine how it would feel to get whipped by a snapping bowstring[]

Most strings are built with 5 times more strength than they need. I would not worry about having it slap you in the face, but I would definitely look at replacing it. If it is constantly fraying, then it is going south in a hurry.

I try to replace my string every other year but don’t always do it I have had stings and buss cables break on me and normally it is after the release and every thing just kind of falls apart no drastic whipping of the stings or any thing just a sinking feeling in your stomach not knowing if you hurt your bow or not especial the first time it happens (although you are alright they only seem to break the day before the opener) sounds like your string needs to be replaced

A string slapping you in the face is the least of your worries. Catching you in the eye would be horrific. If you " suspect" the string to be original, replace it. It' s a small price to pay for your eyesight.
