Hmmm, never saw a pig in ACORNS![&:]
I have a bow that I could probably shoot for the rest of my life, and never really be hurting for performance, quiet, accuracy, etc. It is a Darton Viper with steel cables, can' t go out of time, all that.
Still like to try toys, like PA Bowhuntr says, and through all my trying (mostly 1 or 2 yr. old used toys) have obtained the bow I have wanted all along. Quiet, accurate, reliable, and fast. Bowtech Pro 38 Dual Cam. I have tried many others, including 2 Mathews bows. This is the bow for me. A new bow would have to show me a significant difference to make me want to put out the $$$. I just don' t think there is that much difference, but I am willing to look.
This is the year to make improvements to the archer, not the equipment.

For you Darton fans out there, you' ll appreciate this one.
A friend of mine (about 6+ years ago) get' s a call from his wife one day while he' s at work. " I was out at some garage sales and I bought you a bow!"
my friend: " Oh no... it' s probably no good. A darton for $20. Did you ask them if it was damaged?"
Wife: " No. Sorry."
So my friend gets home and sure enough there' s a hefty crack in one of the limbs. So he figures he' ll take it to a pro shop and see if he can salvage anything since he' s invested $20 into it. Guy at counter says, " We should call and see if it' s under warranty." They call -- it is! They replace the limb and clean it up real nice. []
So he ends up with a like-brand new Darton for $20 (darton paid for shipping and everything). That' s my kind of story!

I have an old PSE 2 cam that is at least 20 years old. I have added a cobra sight and a NAP rest, but it still shoots good. It resembles the " deer hunter" model that is still in the PSE catalogs. I killed a doe with it this season and the arrow went straight through. What more can I ask?
But, I broke down and bought a new Parker that I will be using next season. However, since I sometimes hunt in other areas of New York State, I will continue to take along the old PSE as a backup. Just can' t bear to part with it.

Frank:
OF COURSE I will come over and shoot the Pat Dually. That is the most interesting bow that is out there this year, at least to me. The only other bow that I would give a serious look might be a Pro 40 wheely, but I doubt that I would get a new one, since the wheels on those have not changed like the cams have on the dually. Pivoting limb pockets don' t impress me that much when the limbs are pretty much bottomed anyway.
I am interested in new bows just like you are, I just have more boys to eat away at the budget.
BTW, I have already been " sneaking" down to the Bowflex, working on low weight and high reps. It is looking alot like I will be shooting again soon!
Don' t tell my wife though.[]
