Default RE: Deer lunged, deflected arrow?

If he was moving upwards at the point of impact then your exit should have been lower than the entry, especially if you are in a stand.

Default RE: Deer lunged, deflected arrow?

I have thought of this in the past and believe there is merit to it.When a deer starts to bolt, there muscles will tense to get ready to run and I do believe that would/could affect penetration.

The deer definately did drop to run if the exit hole was higher and sounds feasable that penetration could have been affected. That is assuming everything with the setup is tuned.I am not personally familiar with the head, that is,I have never used them so I can' t comment if they may have been part of the reason or not.
