I can lay mine sideways or any other way and the arrow doesn' t fall out either. Plus, mine drops away when I shoot so the vanes don' t have pass through anything. The one I use is by Vital Bow Gear. You can see it at http://www.vitalbowgear.com/arrowrests.cfm

Finally tried one this year, not sure if it came into play during the hunt, but I shot darn near straight down on my deer, no worries. I luv it.

As you can tell, they definitely have their advantages. Simply trimming a few of the bristles can greatly reduce the drag effects associated with the normal speed loss.

I picked one up to try out over the winter on a couple of my bows. I think they are a good idea for those guys looking for a no-nonsense rest to hunt with.

I love mine!!
I put a little powdered graphite on the bristles to slick things up a bit and it has never torn up any fletchings. It allowed me to stalk up on a doe last week without worrying about the arrow falling off. I won' t ever be without one again.

i use one and love it, chews the fletchings a bit but more than worth it when it comes to hunting and not having to worry about your arrow. never had a problem with mine and can' t imagine anything else.
