I don' t know if you read my thread from the other day. My dad bagged a monster 10 pointer from my stand 3 days after I saw him climbing down from my stand at night. I tell everyone in our hunting party everything. I' d like to see one of us harvest a big buck before any adjacent hunters. They do the same in return. I especially try to set my buddies up that don' t have a lot of time to hunt in the best spot to take a buck.

I tell my buddy. We like to set up within 100 yards or so of each other in the vicinity of a big one we' ve seen. That way if he' s in there one of us is bound to get him. It doesn' t matter who. We' re just after big deer no matter which one of us gets him we' ll both be ecstatic.

I hunt with my brother. We always tell eachother about the deer we see. If we find a big one, we will both set up on it. I would rather have him get it than neither of us, or the neighbor that lives an hour away.

i always share everything with my best friend. Although he usually ends up killing a bigger buck than me, i sitll feel better knowing he shot it than some other yahooo i don' t know. Share your findings with him, and if he bags the buck just be happy for him.

It all depends on who the person is.

My best friend and I will tell each other about a deer because it doesn' t matter who kills one. Actually, this season I have been trying to put him on the big bucks I have seen. He has killed several decent bucks, but nothing huge. We are in this thing together, plus, to us, we just wish that one of us is successful, doesn' t matter which one.

Now, don' t make the mistake I did this year. Don' t tell someone who is going to tell everyone in the country. I invited a friend of mine to hunt with me this year. He has never killed any big deer, and, I really wanted to put him on some big deer. Well, I told him about the 12 point that was running around my house and he went and blabbed to everyone he knew. Wouldn' t you know, some other kid killed the deer. He wasn' t even hunting that area until he found out about the 12 point I was after, then he went in and got the deer. Thats fine and good for him, it wasn' t my deer, but, when he starts making ignorant comments to my girlfriend about how he " killed my deer" , that ticked me off.

If this guy won' t tell everyone about it, then tell him.

Of course I would tell him. Hopefully someone tags the deer instead of no one.

If he' s your hunting partner, then you should let him in. But it' s always your choice.

I agree with many others here. If he is your BUDDY then you need to tell him. You are hunting the same land. If I couldn' t tell my buddy then I' d be thinking about hunting alone or with another buddy. We share all information available. It just improves both of our chances. Just my .02.

My first thought is, " Thank you."

The second thing that pops into my head after I see a big deer is, " I can' t wait to tell Eric (philbert8)."

We plan our strategies together, and motivate each other to get up so damn early when its so damn cold out/hot out.

We respect each others stand positions and go out of our way to leave them undisturbed.

But if his big one walks by, he' s dead! lol

I saw a pie-bald (sp) from my stand a couple times and told my best friend that, " I' ll show it to you, but you have to promise you won' t shoot it" , he agreed, I had to leave, as he had a few extra days to hunt, I knew he wanted to shoot it, but he never did shoot it for giveing me his word he said, but then again there is this other friend of mine who put a moccasin with it head cut off barely in my treestand and I shot a 3 pt near his stand when we didn ' t realized we set up near each other. Moral of the story is, Never trust one friend like you would other. Bobby
