Default May have screwed up big time....

I' ve really been a lot of time looking for " Freakzilla" (see pics in trailcam forum). Tonight I was sitting on a different area of our property, looking for some does. I have only seen one doe from my regular stand. I had this big boy come out and stand broadside at 10 yards...facing the other direction. Wind at 10mph in my favor. I pulled back.....and let it down. I let him go. What you can' t see in the pics is that he' s just outside his ears for width, maybe 18.5" . He' s also got some nice brow tines, probably both 6" . I' d put him in the 130-135 inch range. Oh well, what do you do?

BigXHunter: I wouldnt' say better. But I' ve got time to hunt and I' ve got my eyes set on a buck that I' ve got some pics of that will go well over the 170 mark. I know there are bigger bucks there, it' s just going to take some luck.

Man I' ve seen pics of freakzilla and i believe i would have let him go. Thats a good buck there but those are a little more common than that other one. Thats a once in a lifetime deer. i would have waited...unless i had 2 buck tags. Thats a different story

Since I don' t hunt the big bucks of Wisconsin.....I' d have whacked him. Heck...even if I did hunt there I would have taken a shot. You don' t get that many opportunities to take a nice mature deer like that one. Broadside at ten yards? I say let er fly!!! But since you have the time and obviously the patience I wish you nothing but the best the rest of the season. I hope the freak gives you a shot. Jim
