Monty deer scored around 229non typical. It a monster. Been featured in Okla. game and fish mag several times. It was number two largest at one time. Good Lucck your coming at right time. I hunt in Osage Co. sometimes.

First I' d like to say that your gonna be in a prime big buck area. I played a little college ball out in Alva and I can tell you first hand that there are some monster bucks around there. The genetics and habitat in that area are great for growing some monster bucks. Good luck on taking one of those big boys back to Texas with you. Also there' s no problem with you checking in an undressed deer. You might want to make sure how far you' ll be driving to check one in though. Wouldn' t want to leave the guts in too long.

The check station in Alva is behind the Ampride service station on the main drag going through town. I went to college in Alva and used to hunt there quite a bit. We had a spot out by the golf course along the river that we took some really nice bucks off of. Woods County just gave up another really big black powder buck. It was killed down by Waynoka and green scored 213" .
