How many pins are on your sight?

RE: How many pins are on your sight?
I shoot 4 pins 10 20 30 40. Never tried 1 pin although I know others that use this method. It' s not like you came up with something new here after all you do the same with a rifle scope. It' s all what you like, and can shoot with confidence.
I never have a low light problem with my copper john sight.

Used to shoot an adjustable single pin. I just left it set at about 18 yds. And adjusted to longer or shorter ranges. But since then I have switched bows and sights and now have a 3 pin tru glo. They are set at 10, 20, and 30. The 10 and 20 are basically on top of each other because of the speed my bow gets. But the 30 is a little lower. So far using this set up has worked welll. But I have given some thought to a pendulum.

I use three pins, mainly because my hunting bow is also my target/practice bow. Green set at 20, Yellow set at 32, Red set at 45. While hunting the colors translate to a traffic signal: Go, Caution, and Stop (and really think about that 45 yard shot flinging through the trees).
All my shots have been under 25 yards, so the Green has been the only sight in my vision if ya' know what I mean...

Adams, i shoot one pin out to 30 yards. past there i will let a deer walk. but i had a problem with seeing my pin. so i bought a trintium pin a positioned it right above my other pin. it works great!! i have shot alot of deer using it. i shoot 64# and goldtip carbon arrows.

Wow, lots of 1-pinners here.
My sight has 5, a Trophy Ridge Nitro Xtreme, which I use for 3D and indoor spots as well as for hunting. The pins are set at ranges from 18 to 50 yards. Don' t panic, I' ve never shot at a deer over 30.

Three pins, 30, 50, 70. The 30 (green) is centered in the pin guard to be easy to see. At 295 fps the top pin covers from 0-35 yds. The 50(red) and 70(yellow) are for long range form practice and I use the 30 to 50 pin gap to help me judge distance. I bracket the deers chest and if the deer is smaller than the 30 to 50 pin gap it is farther than 35 yds. This assumes a 16" chest depth so it only works on larger bucks. That makes for a good double check when unsure of distance and can be performed at full draw unlike a laser. That also happens to be my maximum shot distance. The 70 is really fun for shocking people. They think there is no way you can get close to the bullseye at that range.

1 pin (adjustable) set @ 25 yards. This will allow me to hold dead on out to 30 yards. I tried the multi pin setups and got confused in the heat of the moment plus I found myself second guessing my yardage estimating. Also I suck at shooting the gap for between yardages. One pin is so simple, besides it helps me keep myself in check since I' m not comfortbale shooting at a deer much past 30 yards.
