Need help with baiting
This year, we have a huge acorn crop so thats where the deer are. I don' t have any oaks on my 15 acres, but across the road, where I can' t hunt, its all around 300 acres of unhunted hardwood. They' re eating my corn, but its taking them about 3 weeks to eat a 50lb bag! Driving in and out, I' m seeing all the deer across the road in the oaks. My question, is there anything I can put out to compete with the acorns????? I was wondering if anyone has ever tried salted peanuts? I' ve read where deer love peanut butter and since peanuts are high in protein and fat and the salt should taste good to deer, it seems like that might could compete with acorns? I was thinking of just buying a small can of salted peanuts and just throwing them all around my stand, so one deer couldn' t just eat them all like they do under a feeder? Any thoughts or suggestions?

I don' t bait... but there is something you can use.... along with a bunch of squashed apples. They' re expensive... but pick up a hundred pound bag of raw peanuts in the shell at the local Southern States or whatever the close farm store is. I feed the deer in my back yard some at times. I' ll just put a few in each pile of corn. They' ll pick through the corn and eat every peanut first. They just love ' em. I think to get things started you might want to just broadcast a whole bag in a small area. They do love ' em.

a wise hunter once said what the land owner dont know won' t hurt him.
i learned that along time ago and found out the hard way.never go on someones land without permission, i had a guy come up to me with a 12 g shotgun on his sholders.scary fillin when you have bow.
salted nuts will work for the deer. but i do not bait.
go deep hunt hard.
