What a disapointment!
I happend to get home a little earlier today so i hurried to my hunting ground. I proceded to get out and get dressed, grab my bow, grab my backpack, and reach for my release, but there was no release. So i franticlly search my vehicle to no evail. I then decide to run over to the last place i hunted and look there still nothing. I then decide to run home and check there, but still no release and i' m spitting mad. What really sucks is that there was a cold front blowing here in PA, it was chilly and snowy, i finially got the west wind that i wanted so i could hunt this stand and i couldn' t. So tomorrow i have to go pick up a new release. Sorry the stories so long but i had to get out some of my frustration.

I' m not sure what kind of release you use but I never take my release off of my wrist until I' m putting my bow back in my case and then I buckle it to my bow when I put it in so that doesn' t happen. Since it' s in the case it doesn' t move around enough to cause any damage.

I always keep it on my wrist also and i' m sure i did, but my buddy was at my truck when i got out and i talked to him and i' m not sure what i did with it, i always put it in my backpack. it must have fell out of my truck some where or something.

I used to put it in my pack as well. Then the same thing happened to me. We got back to the truck and all started talking about what we saw (or didn' t see) and the next thing you know I' m getting ready to head out the next morning and my release is nowhere to be found. Thats why I keep it with my bow now. The only way I' ll forget my release is if I forget my bow. Not that thats ever hapened .

Sounds like a tough day. I can say I' ve never left an essential piece of equipment home (like a release) but I can' t begin to tell you how many times I' ve forgotten something else.
Better luck next time.

I' m with mass, after losing my release one time, mine doesn' t come off my wrist until I put the bow up and then I use the wrist straps to attach it to my bow. When I take the bow out, it goes on my wrist and to make it easier to carry things and climb, I turn the release so the release is on the top side of my hand until I get in the stand and get settled.
sorry about your bad day. A big part of bow hunting is eliminating all the possible mistakes and murphy laws that you can before you hunt.
