PSE has a few nice bows that come completely outfitted for under 200.00..... you might want to check them out.
Good luck with whatever you choose, and it' s really nice to see hear of someone else taking up a bow.

Martin isn' t an off brand bow.
They make a good bow.........who do you think invented the one cam bow. Martin did it a long time ago.
More info is needed to give you more advise........how old you are, tall, how strong ect.....

IMHO, you should go to a pro shop that has a shooting range and shoot some. They will be able to correctly fit you and you can find what feels best for you. If you don' t like what they have or the vibe...go to another one.
Be up front and tell them your looking at inexpensive ones to start with that way you set the rules about them trying to shove something you dont need down your throat. Keep in mind that an Ol recurve bow will kill a deer, so you don' t HAVE to have the best of the best just what feels good to you. Since your tall too, you want to make sure that bow fits you.
Personally I have had two PSE bows and have been happy with them. The one I hunt with now is probably 10 years old and still kills them dead. lol I am sure almost anything you get will be better overall tech wise then my 10 yr old PSE.
I have friends that have Dartons, Mathews (well liked), Bowtechs, Alpines...etc etc.
You might want to mention that you want something that you could upgrade later... like lighter/better arrows, better sights, etc etc. I went through several different sights before i found one i liked anyway. Heavier/cheaper arrows might be better to start with instead of flinging the fragil expensive ones. ??

Like hunt3r said, find a local bowshop, not a big chain, and they will hook you up. It helps to have a price range in mind. Otherwise they might start showing high priced models.
Parker makes a good combo package. Ready to shoot from the factory with sight, rest, arrows, quiver, peep sight, and release.
I just purchased the Parker Hunter-Mag. I use a different release than in the package and I added a kisse button. Sweet little bow.
All major manufacturors have a website you can check out.

My words of advise, don' t take up bowhunting. It' s probably one of the most addictive drugs on Earth. But seriously, good luck. I shoot a PSE Spyder, 55# 26 in draw(im 5' 6" so i got short arms).

RE: I want to start bowhunting
MI_Bowhunter had some good advice. I also just bought the Parker Hunter Mag Outfit. It is sweet indeed. I took my deer this year with my old PSE and rewarded myself with the new Parker. Won' t actually hunt with it until next year...which gives me all winter to shoot at my local pro shop. That is my advice to you... Get your bow and then ...pracice a ton....before you actually hunt with it. Deer are too precius to waste with poor ability. You will see some deer that are not really shootable as you go along. Never be afraid to let one pass by if it is not a good opportunity. Good sportmanship starts inside us. It is a shame and a waste to lose a wounded animal. I know you will enjoy bowhunting just as much as this group here.
