stealthy - Have you read the article that Zaft wrote for Bowhunter magazine? It seems that Zaft has changed his story as to how much of the buck was eaten by the coyotes. In the Bowhunter article he states that the cape was ruined and the body cavity was open. I haven't reread the Whitetail article, but I seem to remember him stating there that the entire carcass was consumed. If my recollections are correct, then Zaft's new story is a very significant change. Do you think he's changed his story because of some of the questions concerning the validity of the deer's recovery?

RuRu12 - No, I have not read that article - what magazine was it in ?
Zaftbuck.com did have the North American Whitetail interview posted, but its gone now. Wonder why ? I have he magazine at home, but in it Zaft clearly says the carcass is completly gone, cape and all could not be salvaged. Fishy ....
Now, any takers on the landowner comments ?

Awe, come on guys ! The landowner having legally found that deer and claiming it , but instead generously giving it to Zaft - is that an argument that is so hard to debate that no one is going to ? Rack-attack, NJBowman, sticerpt - C'mon guys, don't bail on me !!

You are 100% right, the farmer could of kept the rack and there was nothing Zaft could of done.
Even if his arrow was still stuck in the deer and a blood trail the size of the Mississippi led to that deer, and the farmer found it only 30 mins. after Zaft double lunged it “the farmer could of kept the rack and there was nothing Zaft could of done”.
It has nothing to do with proof it has everything to do with possesion and private property.
Are you saying that every deer that enters private property after being shot cannot be considered a kill because the owner of the property “could” keep it if he wanted to?
The property owner has the right to deny any kill from any hunter no matter how bad or good a kill it was.
The fact that the farmer did not care about the rack and let Zaft take it means nothing in this argument, and does not in any way proof or disproof whether the buck was a kill or a pickup.

Rack-attack - Nope, you totally missed my point. My point is, there was NO bloodtrail, NO arrow, NOTHING whatsoever to prove it was Zafts. C'mon, most people will give a rack back, even a huge one, if theres an proof at all as to who shot it. Zaft aint got the proof in any way, shape or form.
Point is, the landowner found a dead deer, no signs that it had been shot, and was generous enough to give that deer to Zaft. I am dying to know how far from where Zaft shot the deer to where it was found.
