This evening i was out hunting and i saw
This evening i was out hunting for prolly the last time in my greenfeild
and this doe and fawn snuck in on me she knew somthing was up when she looked at me but she couldnt figure me out so she went on or i thought she come around me and cheked from the other side she still didnt know bout it
she did a really loud snot weez run at the fun . I guess she was telling him
that something was up but the baby wouldnt leave so she come cheked once more and she still didnt like it so she snort weezed again and the baby just stood there
so she ran over there and started pawing the baby on the behind
i guess whooping it . My dad had told me he had whittnessed the or almost
the same thing except he was cutting hay and there was a fawn out in the middle of the field layed up the doe come got it and tok it to the edge of the woods and he said the baby ran back and laid down so the doe ran out there and started pawing it on the rear end . Is it there way of punishment . Have you ever whitnesed this or something like it

I' m thinking I hear an Oklahoma accent in there.
To answer your question, I believe it is the doe' s way of getting it' s attention without hurting it. As the fawn gets older, she' ll start hitting it in the neck and shoulder' s like she would other deer.
