probably 50, i have a 20,30,40,50, and 60 pin and practice all of them, and could kill a deer easily at 50 if it didnt move but seriously about 40 or less is good if your not a super marksman, i shot a doe at 35 last year perfect!

35 yards is my max but I much prefer 25 yards and under. 35 yards doesn' t seem to far on the practice range but in the timber that is a mile!!!!

25-30 yards is my max comfort zone out in the woods. On an open field I' d take a 40 though.

I have pracited anywhere from 30 yards and under and am confident that giving a clear shooting range i could ethicaly make a killing shot. I have only practiced at 30 and wouldnt shoot a yard farther. Besides bowhunting to me is about getting close to the game, not long range arrow flinging.

In my opinion, I say just shoot about 25-50% shorter shots than you are comfortable with. That way, you know that you can handle the shot. sure takes a lot of the pressure off. you might have to pass on a few more deer, but you will end up feeling a lot better that you saw those deer than that you shot them and wounded them.

I set a 30 yard max limit for myself, as long as we' re talking good conditions. However, if I have a marginal hit on a deer and feel like a second arrow is needed, and if I get a good opportunity, I' d shoot as far as I had to in order to put that second arrow in it. So far I' ve never needed that second arrow, and I hope I never do need it.

I' ll shoot as far as my farthest pin (50 yds). Most of my practice is at 50yds so I' m comfortable taking a shot from that distance.

Simply put, it' s whatever distance your capable of shooting with a good amount of precision and accuracy. I have a friend that likes to practice at out to 90yds (if your making them at 90 those 50/60 yd shots are cake).

Max for me is 30 yards. I only have one lane out that far anyway.

10,20,30 yard pins. I' m very accurate at all three and have practiced the 30 yarder more than anything else. I doubt I would attempt anything further than that, but it would depend on the situation.
