Fletching my own arrows?

Fletching my own arrows?
Does anyone recommend it? I' m interested in starting to do it myself. I tear up alot of fletchings and thought it would be a fun hobby to get into. What type of fletching tool do you recommend? What type of glue or epoxy? And how do I get the glue off the carbon arrow?

I' d highly recommend it. I had a turntable with 12 Martin jigs set up. I could do a dozen arrows in an hour with it.
I only use aluminum shafts, so the glue and cleaning process needs to be answered by someone else. They make a fletching stripper tool that worked great on aluminum, not sure about carbon.

I fletch all my arrows with the Bitzenberger. I do them one vane at a time and it' s ideal to replace one. There are many on the market for multiple fletchings like the Jo Jan and the one mentioned above.
I removed the old glue with a dull knife....being ever so careful not to dig into the carbon fibers, a little light sanding, some alchohol and it' s ready to fletch again..

Is there a safer way than using a dull knife? Knowing my luck I' ll screw up the arrow. Do you recommend straight or a right or left helical? I' m shooting a drop away so I think I would be able to use a helical.

Helical will definately help you with broadhead flight and with your drop away rest, you needn' t worry about fletch clearance. You could also go with an offset fletch.
I use a dull knife....or broadhead blade...that' s just how I do it, hundreds later, no mess ups....ya just have to be careful.

I use a 6 degree right helical on my vanes.
They are not hard to do I have the Arizona easy fletcher and do all 3 vanes at once.
If I just have to replace 1 vane the AEF will do that too.
