Bowhunter has an article comparting them in the latest issue. The cut area is substatially greater with a three blade broadhead. More cut = more leathal in my mind.

Two blade broadheads have been getting the job done for years. They are very deadly and work quite well. Of course the more blades the larger the " hole" and the more tissue damage. for deer size game I like a multitblade head but for super tough larger game a two blade is king. I used two blade Magnus heads last year with good results, and I know they will get the job done. It all boils down to a personal choice in what gives you the most confidnece.

After killing a deer with a mechanical last year that left me with a very tough blood trail I have grabbed 3 different sets of heads to increase my chance of a passthrough this year.

One of them is the Magnus Stinger 2 blade...........man these things look like they will slice through a deer no problem.......and the deer behind him and the tree behind her.

If Ted Nugent can get passthroughs and kill piles of deer with 2 blade Magnus heads at 55lb draw weight.......I should be OK too.

Now if Ted would just let me hunt some of his stands

atlas , I saw a video of Ted shooting a zebra with that setup = complete passthru . That sold me and I used them 2 seasons ago , every deer I shot was a complete passthru with the arrow sticking in the ground .

I' ve been shooting 2 blade Zwickey broadheads since I started hunting. I' ve harvested close to 10 deer with them, and had complete passthroughs on every single shot. In fact, the only animal I' ve ever shot that didn' t pass completely through was a coyote I got a few years back, and that was only because my arrow hit a tree as it was coming out the other side.

I' ve always had excellent blood trails, even on marginal hits.

Just as a point of reference - the first deer I ever shot was a 2 1/2 year old doe. I was 15 years old at the time, shooting a Golden Eagle Predator bow. My arrow was somewhere around 25" long and I wasn' t shooting any more than 50 lbs. The arrow passed clean through the deer and stuck into the ground halfway up the shaft. She only ran 40 yards and dropped.

I have personally witnessed my father shoot deer, bear, and moose with these days heads - all with the same results.

Just keep in mind that if you shoot a fixed-blade head that you have to constantly keep them sharpened. Personally, I sharped my blades every 2-3 times I go out by running them over my leather strap a few times.
