Bino Choices???
I have seen alot of binocular talk lately. Well I just broke my $90 Bushnell bino' s and I want to get a new pair. I need some advise. I will not spend over $400 on binoculars but I want the best 10x' s bino' s for around $200 to $300. I was looking at the Wind River Cascades for $279. Anyone ever use these? I am tired of the real cheapo' s that when its low light it may as well be pitch dark. Any advise would be appreciated....

I have a pair of Wind Rivers and I have friends that have Steiners and more friends that have Swarvoski and they are all alike, no real noticeable difference, even in low light. Can' t beat Wind Rivers for the price and quality that they offer.

Nikons are great...either the 8 or 10 x 36 Team Realtree sets or the more expensive Monarchs..................quality optics...............Brunton Eternas are great if you can find someone thats not trying to make a 150 dollars over cost on them.

$400? get a pair of steiner predator 8x30' s for $200 and whatever else you want with the rest
no seriously, I tried some high end binoculars last year, and they are definately the way to go, there really is a BIG difference in quality and clarity.

I use Nikon Action binios. 10x50. They are not the smallest or the lightest but at $139 they are the clearest and best warrenty for the money. I droped them and broke the lens, Nikon replaced the lens for the cost of shipping. They are very clear and I use them all the time. I think I would have to spend 400-1000 to get better.
I can' t say enough good things about Nikon binos.

My suggestion is to look on e-bay. I got a pair of Zhumells that were used for six hours for half the price I could get them anywhere else. I am extremely satisfied with them and am glad that I looked there.

Thanks for the help. I really like the Wind River Casades from Leupold. I have always used Leupold products so it would be nice to stick with them. I hope to see alot of Binoculars at the new Cabelas in Hamburg, Pa next week!!

I bought a pair of Brunton Eterna 10x42 for I think $273. Absolutely love them, I have a pair of Steiner Predator 8x22' s and would choose the Bruntons over the Steiner quality anyday. I have sent my Steiners back for repairs once already after only two years of use. Bruntons are as good as new. I looked for the site I bought them off of but was unable to find anything, I do remember it was a camping supply shop in Wyoming. I did look online and found $293 was the cheapest I could find with a short search and that most sites have them back ordered.
