RE: which broadheads do you perfer?
I personally prefer the Rocket 75 grain Miniblasters. i have killed elk, antelope, javelina, and coyotes with them and all were complete pass thrus. i also like the RM Snyper and had a passthru on a black bear. I videoed a friend last weekend that killed his bull elk with a Miniblaster. from time of impact to time the bull went down was 12 seconds. They are awesome heads, but remember, you need the KE to make them work. I shoot 67 lb. KE and believe you should have at least 60.

I' m rather new to bow hunting and when I started, a friend suggested that I try Spitfires. I tried them for three years. I was pretty happy with them, but I liked the way my brother' s Rocky Mountain Snypers cut. So this year I' m changing over.

If you have enough KE and a well tuned bow, a good mechanical would probably work for you. I personally shoot fixed Magnus heads, and love them. Bowhunting is a challenge....and I want as many odds in my favor as I can get. The last thing I want is my broadhead to fail. (not saying mech heads will fail, just that they can). Whatever you do, don' t shoot mech heads to cover up for a poorly tuned bow. A poorly tuned bow is just that. A well tuned bow will shoot fixed heads and mech heads excellent.
And remember, shot placement is the key...regardless of what you choose.
