It took awhile to convince me, but carbon is the way to go. Faster, lighter, stronger...
They are pricey, but unless you end up Robin Hooding a bunch of arrows, the typically last a real long time. If you go that route, take the trouble to go to a good archery pro and have him set you up. Typically he' ll have you shoot thru paper to make sure that the arrow chosen is the right one, given your draw weight, type of rest, etc.
