Default VELVET, POLISHED ANTLERS AND SPARRING

Thought I' d capitalize my subjec title for Buck Magnet.

Took a quick ride around the lease and in less than 1/2 hour we saw around 75 deer, about 15 bucks....many out of range of the bino' s as light was fading but I did see one close enough to make out he' s a shooter...about a 20" 8 pt...nice buck, probably a 3.5 year old.

Also saw a couple sparring already. I made them out to be 1.5 yr olds testing one another...nice sight tho. Too many doe, we really need to thin them out. Nice night, I' m counting the days......I' m envious of you whom are already hunting. [:-]

Good job Rob

I have only seen fuzz

Will be out at daybreak tommorow though looking for some bone

You have me all pumped up (in a heterosexual bowhunting sort of way)

Rob,
I know we live at the opposite ends of the state, but boy your area sounds just like mine the last time I was out spotting, I matched your numbers of bucks and total deer. You have me on the big buck size though, the 8 pt I saw was probably only an 18" spread, with some really nice tall tines though.
I can' t wait for the season to get here.

Rob, you better be glad that you put my name in the post. I saw this and was gonna jump on your case about the capital letters [>:]

Sounds like a good evening though. Not too much longer and all the bucks will be out of velvet! Right now, I say that it is about 50/50

I am also starting to see a good amount of fresh rubs around the area.

I can' t wait to get my film on Friday, these two places I set up my cameras are looking great. I am hoping to get some pics of bucks with velvet dangling off their antlers. That would be awsome!

I went " out back" yesterday around 7:30pm to see if there were any deer in the field. There were 9--5 fawns, 2 adult does, and 2 bucks--one which was head and shoulders over all others present. He strutted his stuff like he knew it too. He got himself in trouble when he took a little mock charge at a couple fawns that were playing though . . . their mother apparently didn' t like it and she head butted him in the side and chased him a bit.
