Default tuning my arrow rest

I noticed that my arrow points slightly to the left when i look straight down the spine. I thought adjusting my rest would be the easiest way to go. I did this and it seems better, however, i now have the problem with where to set the set screw for arrow hieght on the rest? It a spring driven rest (cheap one) Can anyone give me some tuning details on how to accurately set up my arrow rest before i screw it up even more.. Remeber i am new to this. What are some " best practices"
thanks
