Default Donating meat?

I love the taste of venison more than anyone, but 2 deer a year is more than enough for me and my uncle(since were the only ones who eat it). But, we take more than that due to the population increase, and we do use it. We give it away to friends and some relatives. But, my question is, we have to donate program where the meat goes to needy families, but ive just come in contact with a lady that owns some exotic animals. I beleave she has a tiger, a few wolves, a lion, and something else. She recieves calls from police saying that a deer has just been hit or something and she' ll go and get it to feed to her animals. I told her i would be more than happy to donate a deer or two to her this fall. Does this sound like a good idea? Or should the meet go to the families? Or should i divide it. The reason im saying give it to her is that its costing her $35 an animal to feed them, and shes not a PETA activist like i thought she would be, which means im all for donating the deer to her to help her pets. What do you guys think?

I reckon people should come before animals, exotic or not. I' d give the good meat to needy families and the leftovers, bones n stuff to the animals.

hunter9022, you are a champion for donating meet to the needy. Alot of people today don' t think of others, like needy families. I want to encourage you to keep up the good work, you' ll reep what you sow buddy. Good on ya

I think exotic animals should remain in their exotic habitat and not be allowed out of it. It' s not like this lady was forced to own exotic animals...with owning them comes responsibility. It' s a no-brainer to me, feed the hungry.

There are plenty of donation programs to feed the hungry out there. Find out where your closest drop off is and help some hungry children before you feed the local tigers.

hunter9022,

If I only harvested two deer a year, I myself would starve. As it were, I harest approx 9 deer a year, and along with my two hunting partners we harvest approx 15-20 deer a year. We feed our three families and donate 3-5 deer per year to Hunters for the Hungry. It goes to feed the folks less fortunate then ourselves. I personally would donate the venison to the hungry families. Not that I have anything against the keeping of pets, but if you' re going to keep those kinds of animals then you should take care of them. With the deer we harvested last year I have a pporx 40 lbs of meat left. It will all be gone prior to our season starting on Oct 4.

I only keep 1 deer for myself. Any others I tag I donate to Farmers and Hunters Feeding the hungry. I had a letter sent to me from a church that got my donation from the program. It made feel pretty good knowing how many families I helped.
