Default Shot placement advice needed

I've never attempted it, but has anyone shot a head on briscut shot? i'm afraid my arrow may deflect off the briscut. Had many opportunities that i've passed on because of this wondering what your thoughts are. i shoot 70 lbs at 305 ft per sec. with the rage 3 blade broadheads, can you break through the briscut?

yea i shot a doe a couple years ago head on at 35 40 yards. she went a whole 5 or 6 feet and did a complete back flip and that was it. you gotta be careful with that shot though.but there is no bone in the brisket area.

That is an extremley low percentage shot, and I for one would never take it. Yea...target animal will probably die but there won't be much of a blood trail and the chance of hitting vitails is low. Respect the animal and wait for the high percentage shot.

The heart is completely protected by the sternum and ribs. The lungs are a target, but your window is actually pretty small. If the deer turns just a bit when you release (a very high probability since it will be looking in your direction), your small window gets smaller. If it puts its head down, then your window is gone.

For a gun, it's not a bad shot. For a bow, I wouldn't take it, not even with a bone-splitting single-bevel broadhead.

Poor shot to take a lot could go wrong . If you did shoot higher tan you think , below the white patch, If you get lucky to hit both lungs or the spine. it can be don e but i would wait for a better shot
