Anyone ever see a Doe with 3 fawns ?
My cousin saw a Doe with 3 fawns while driving today.
Isn' t this kind of rare ?
Heard they usually have two at the most.
I' ve seen it a couple times. The most notable was 2 years ago I saw a doe, with a gimp leg and her 3 fawns were all bb' s. Watched her all summer that year.
Given the right nutrition, does are very capable of producing triplets; however, they will usually produce twins in a well-balanced environment that is near the carrying capacity of the area.
does with 3 fawns are usually really old deer.... and very large too... i' ve seen it a couple times here and its pretty uncommon.... for my part of the state[:-]
