Comprehensive Bow Picture System Completed - Please Share Your Pics With Everyone
Guys,
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Long (but exciting!) post, so a short version first for those in a hurry :
--------------------------------------------------------------------
We have just completed the comprehensive compound bow picture database system that is created for all archers so that everyone can get access to great pictures of any compound bow / bow components / bow versions.
1. Have a look at how it works here: Comprehensive Mathews Z7 gallery
2. Consider improving archery by sharing your pics and emailing them to us as described here: how to share your pics with the world in 2 minutes.
3. Reply to this post by providing your feedback about the system.
----------------------------------------------------------
Details: for those who want to find out more exciting details:
----------------------------------------------------------
A few archery enthusiasts have been developing a useful online resource about compound bows for a almost 2 years (including initial develoment stage). So this new compound bow pics database system is just another step in making archery better and helping archers all over the world.
Although this new component is ready from technical perspective, we need to fill the database with the pics so that everyone can enjoy using it. And we hope that you will help improve archery by sharing your pics. Please consider sending your bow pics to us so that we can process them and make them available to everyone.
We believe this bow picture database should be very useful to the community because the system allows for:
1) viewing different components of a bow - whole bow, riser, cams, grip, limbs, etc.
2) browsing pics - a comfortable navigation system helps to navigate through pics easily
3) filtering pics by version - as we add more and more pics, you will be able to explore pics for a particular version, for example: 2010 Hoyt Alphamax 32 (Z3 cam)
4) filtering pics by bow components - as we add more and more pics (hopefully with your help), you will be able to explore pics for a particular bow component, for example: show cams only / show grips only / show riser-to-limbs connection only, etc.
5) exploring useful information about bow / components / versions - we will be adding useful comments to pictures, this will help archers to get better information (like mini overviews of components, mini summaries, etc)
6) viewing pics as a slideshow - you can sit back, relax, have a cup of tea/coffee/etc. by switching on the slideshow mode.
Once again, here is a live example: comprehensive Mathews Z7 gallery
Please help improve the industry by sharing your pics so that we can add more pics for everyone to enjoy (like we did for the Mathews Z7). While it will only take a few minutes of your time, your assistance will be of tremendous value to many folks.
If you are happy to spend only a couple of minutes of your time to improve archery and change the world please do one of the following actions:
1) email us your pics in high-resolution right now if you have access to them - Use this quick guide on how and where to email your pics.
- OR -
2) consider taking pics if you don't have them - if you are very passionate about improving archery and giving back please take a few pics and email them to us. It would be nice if you could take pics against a nice looking background (grass, nature, etc.). Many thanks on behalf of many many archers for your extra effort if you decide to take this route!
- OR -
3) send me a private message indicating you would be happy to help later on once you have time/access to pics
- OR -
4) reply to this thread to indicate you can help later on - i will be in touch
P.S. Even if you can't help now or later for some reason, can you please have a look at the aforementioned Mathews Z7 gallery and reply to this thread by providing your feedback (dont' forget to try all features like filtering, pagination, reading mini summaries, using arrow/page up/page down keyw for navigation, switching on the slideshow mode, etc):
1) do you like the idea?
2) do you think it will be helpful for folks?
3) do you like the implementation?
4) what do you like/dislike exactly?
5) how could this bow picture database system be improved?
Once again guys, thanks very much on behalf of many many archers for your contribution! Let's change the world together!
Dave
