I' m not from Minnesota, but I' d proabably have to say it would work if done right, and at the right time. First, you have to know when the rut occurs in your area. Probably early to mid November. Pre-rut is the best time to rattle. Although bucks will occasionally respond to rattles during the rut...pre-reut is still the best. Post-rut will also get some repsonce. There are still some does left after the rut that have yet to be HAD!!!! Also, the more competition for the bucks...the better rattles will work. If there are plenty of does to go around, then rattleing will be less productive. In the Forum of T.R' s Tips he has a good article on the fine aspects of rattling, and I think you should consider looking at this.

Hey outdoorsman, nice to see someone so close to home. I live 20 miles away and work in Marshall. Yeah it does work and well. Early to mid October seems to be the best times so far. I haven' t had a shot yet but I have had a few hard charging bucks hang up just out of bow range. Probably because they didn' t see anything when they thought they should. It can be pretty tricky especially around here after the slug hunters have been stirring up the pot.

I live in central Minnesota and the only success I' ve had rattling has been in the favor OF THE DEER!!! I' ve turned heads, but mainly just scared the deer away. I have had some freinds in MN who have had the deer to come in, but never had a shot.
I do think Rattling will work in Minnesota, but you must get the deer at the right part of the rut. I also think many parts of MN has poor buck to doe ratios. I think if an area has a 50/50 ratio bucks to does you might have some pretty good luck!!!
Keep trying.......Good Luck!!
