Scouting by Spotlight. How many do it?

RE: Scouting by Spotlight. How many do it?
From another PA resident, I grew up spotlighting deer. Great fun for the whole family if you have a good deer population in the area. It' s a good way of showing impatient youngsters that have a hard time sitting still in the woods, deer and other animals up close. We' ve seen everything from Deer, Bear, Fox, Raccoon, Opossum, coyote, porcipine, to one extremely scary scare crow w/ reflective thumbtacks for eyes! LOL
I will spot later in the evening (9:00-10:00 PM) throughout the year (except rifle season... when its illegal). I also like to spot the field edges before and during archery season, right at dusk, near my favorite hunting stands just to see what kind of activity/population there is in that exact area.
Sorry about your luck if your state doesn' t allow you to spotlight. When its 4 days before archery season and all your scouting is done and you drive by the field where your stand is located right at dark and there is a huge buck standing 30 yards away from your tree, You' ll never be more pumped up to get in the woods opening morning/evening.
Good luck out there,
-BJ
