Default Draw Length Question on a new bow?

I am considering a new bow.(Have been forever). Probably a Mathews LX. On my old bow, I did not use a string loop. I think I would on a new bow, but realize there will be a change in draw length. What would the advantages and disadvantages of shortening my draw lenth? It would only be about a .5 inch or so. Would it be in my better inerest to shorten my release>

No need to shorten draw length, just shorten release, from strap to trigger and that 1/2" is taken up.

IMO shortening the dl for a loop is worse than doing nothing about it.
