i know i will probably get talked down to on this but i have always wanted to try it.
but since i have tagged out already in ks. i have a buddy that lives in Mississippi that will let me come down there and hunt so should i do a rut hunt in MS or should i go to texas after the first of the year for some practice shooting on some exotics? i can't decide witch one to do what do y'all think?

I can't see anything wrong with either scenario. Guess I'd pick the deer hunt. I personally don't have much interest in exotics, but any hunting is better than none.

If I were you, I would rather go to south texas for a rut hunt, I'm not much on exotics either.

I would go to MS. Get to have another chance at a nice buck as well as spend some time with your buddy!

It's really too bad you have to start out your post with this "i know i will probably get talked down to on this but i have always wanted to try it.".... Some people on HNI need to stop being tough guys behind their keyboards, and actually help other hunters. Thats why this site is so small compared to other forums; people are worried about getting browbeat for everything they post. IMHO that is... pearsontx4, congrats on a successful season so far! If it's something you've always wanted to try then go for it if you've got the chance! Good luck!

I would say that it all depends on what you really want to do. Is this going to be the only chance you have to go to TX and hunt exotics? If so then I would jump all over that but if not then go to MS and stick it to a good ol' whitetail
