long heavy duty rope (I hate the feeling when I'm letting it down that maybe, just MAYBE, the rope will break and there goes my bow on a free fall ) and a nice tough carabiner clip.

X 2. Tied real good to the top of the stand. Then hanging down to about 5 feet off the ground. So when you clip your bow to its all ready off the ground and not swinging.....

My rope stay out on my stands 24/7. Then I leave it up top with me after I pull my bow up.

Use a pull up rope. You can hook it up at the top after you pull up your bow to minimize scent. I use a small clip to make it quicker and easier to connect/disconnect.
