Southern Missouri Public Grounds

RE: Southern Missouri Public Grounds
Mark Twain has some great hunting but you have to do your homework, it is so vast and heavily timbered, you can go for miles in places through woods. If you can get off the beaten path and find some good sign you may be in luck. There are no food plots that I know of around my area but I see a lot of deer crossing the highway as I go to and from work. Another place you may check into if you are close enough is Indian Trail State Park near Salem, it is 13000+ acres that has lots of food plots and big timber to hunt. It has a huge deer population due to the fact that no does are allowed to be taken during the gun season, only with a bow you can take a doe. There are many huge bucks taken every year in there and it is a great place to fill a late season bow tag with a fat doe.
