Default What do YOU think would be a PERFECT HUNTIN BOW???

I am not asking brands, I want to see what specs you think would be ideal for your hunting situations and why. Here is mine....

32" axle to axle length (easy to move around in a treestand)

8 1/4" brace height (to protect against hitting clothes on cold days}

VFT limbs (to help reduce handshock and noise)

Hybrid cam system molded from BowTech BKII cams (to ease out and smooth the draw for cold days and still have lots of speed)

Hoyt Tec Style Riser (to help stiffen the riser, decrease weight, and reduce shock)

Hoyt Grip (to reduce torque and to increase overall comfort)

Mathews Hamonic Dampeners or Martins riser dampeners (to help take a little more shock out of the riser)

Hoyt Limb Pockests with BowTech sandtrap technology (to have the tightest limb pockets with BowTechs sandtrap tech taking even more vibration out)

Simms products from Hoyt and PSE (Hoyt with factory string leechs and limb savers and PSE with the Limb Modules to reduce noise and shock)

Factory installed Winners Choice Strings

Mass weight of 3.65 pounds (easy to haul in and out of the woods)

IBO Speed of 345 f.p.s. (allows the archer to shoot a heavier arrow and achieve more KE and momentum while still having great speed)

That is my PERFECT hunting bow..... ooooo if only BowTech, Hoyt, Mathews, and PSE would get together and design that bow [:' (][:' (]

1) 64" AMO for my 32" draw.

2) Actionwood deflexed riser for strength and stability.

3) Clear glass limbs, with lams of carbon and Yew.

4) Double bolt limb retention.

5) Medium wrist grip.

6) Fast and quiet.

A brace that is easily managed
enough speed
A-A - under 45"
quiet

Most of all one I can hold and shoot very well, and groups fixed heads very tight.

I had it with my Mathews Feathermax, I have it with my Solo Pat. I could have it with almost any of the top line hunting bows, and probably most of the lesser ones also.

There is nothing they can do to any bow that will to any measurable degree increase my odds of a successful hunt. IMO the bow itself is the smallest part of the equation.

Though its fun to tinker and spend money . It' s best not to let the marketing machines convince us that there new technology " will actually make a difference" in the whole scheme of things.

IMO the only real improvement made in the last 10 yrs (As far as hunting goes) is the decrease in sound of today’s bows. Otherwise they all do the same thing as long as you do

Wow...and this is from a gadget guy []

Hmm... My preference would be a stick about 35" , a string and a wooden arrow on feathers.

perfection would be:

36-37 in axle to axle
8 in bh
perimeter weighted cam
winners choice string
75% let off
315 IBO speed
every Sims product
doinker d-2
small grip similar to Matthews
long riser with short parallel limbs
ultimate in silence and accuracy
light weight around 3.5 pounds
