Still get excited as if it were my first...
I still can't but feel like a little kid on christmas!!!! All I can say is I'm glad the feeling NEVER gets old!!!! Like fred bear said: " A feeling that cleanses the mind, and soothes the soul!" Whacked her @35 yards on Nov. 6 @ 4:38 pm and not too shabby of a shot...great feeling when it all comes together...still no sign of rut up in NE Ohio...

I love that feeling when you can feel your pulse in your temples and it is hard to swallow. I hate it after the shot when your still shaking so bad you can't text anyone and tell them you just shot your biggest buck with the bow.......DAMN IT!

I'm starting my 53rd year of Bowhunting & it's still there. I let Does pass from 1980 until about 3 years ago when Bonus tags came about. When I decide I am going to shoot an animal-be it a Doe or a 50# wild Hog I get the heavy breathing & that excitment no one can explain unless YOU experience it.
NOW-this year I am sitting with my adult daughter (A Nurse) who has decided to Bowhunt. She has not had a shot YET but we've come close a couple times-WHEN those times happen I think I GET MORE EXCITED than if I were drawing on a huge Buck.
It's great!!!!! I have a son I've taken Bowhunting & he's taken Deer & Caribou-It's great. I am truly blessed to enjoy the rush in more than one way..Sharing....
Congrats on the Deer.
My 1st shots at Deer were in 1957 (Illinois 1st season) at age 15. I had a shot at a Doe, A Buck & another 2 shots at another Buck that weekend. I shook & my teeth chattered after every shot. In 1958 I took my 1st deer & I shook all over.

Absolutly! There isn't a drug made that can even comes close to the feeling you get bowhunting. I can be as calm as ever watching deer, but as soon as I make up my mind to take the shot, it starts. I love it! I don't even gun hunt much any more because it doesn't compare to archery.........
