I would loosen the screws on his stand and hope he took a 25ft dive[:@] Just kidding, I wouldn' t do that, but I would make dang sure he knew he was trespassing. It could have been an honest accident, ie. entering the woods before dawn. I would not steal his stand, that makes you a thief, 2 wrongs doesn' t make a right.

I have been in this situation before. My land and my cousins land boarder each other. He is not a deer hunter and has given me permission to act as if I owned it.

I once found two very nice expensive stands set up on my cousins land. I informed my cousin and he told me to take the stands if I wanted them. I decided to leave a note at each stand telling them they were trespassing and to remove the stands immediatly. The next time I checked the stand were still there and they had been hunted out of. I was really ticked. Called my cousin at noon and told him I will be delivering two stands to his house. He said bring em, I' ll sell them or give them to a nephew.

I hate trespassers.

I would take the stand down and give it to the property owner or the game commission. Then I would leave a note telling the trespasser to contact the game commission to pick up there stand. I bet they don' t go get it!!!

I dont think i would take it. If i was you i would just remove the stand from the tree and place it at the bottom of the tree. This way the person wont lose a tree stand, but know that he is not supposed to be on the land
